Ours being a relatively young family, we don't have any Christmas traditions as of yet. Also, although I grew up in a Catholic household, we didn't really have any traditions outside of the advent cycle in church. I just read this and I think it is a great tradition to start. For the link phobic, you take 25 children's books and wrap them to put under the tree and open one to read each night. I'm going to start looking for Christmas and winter books to use.
I would love it if anyone has any Christmas traditions that they would like to share with me.
I love that. Ours isn't really an xmas tradition, but a holiday tradition. We seem to have begun making at least one food to mark the holiday & a craft project for our door. http://tinyurl.com/2bax4pv
ReplyDeleteMy mom collected several variations of The Night Before Christmas over the year - Texan, Cajun, etc. We would go to the midnight mass, and then read all of them together after church before going to bed.
ReplyDeleteWe also had a little Advent tree. There was a book that we read from every day that told the story of Christmas. My brother's godmother made a second little book that went along with it that had little poems every day, with a "mystery" thing that had been in that day's story. You guessed what it was, and then there was a tiny little ornament of that thing to put on the tree.
