Linguistical Exercise

I've watched this exercise a number of times in the past week on various blogs and I have really enjoyed them so I decided to participate.

The list of words is:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Spitting Image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

The extra words:
About, Aluminium, Apricot, Schedule, News

And the questions are:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly, carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

The extra question:
What is a torrential rain that causes ditches to overflow creating flash floods on streets and roadways? (These are really common in San Antonio.)

I'd love to see yours, too, if you do one, please let me know and leave a link. Thanks.

  1. I think you have a great accent and a lovely speaking voice! It is a bit nerve-racking facing the camera, isn't it? I'm not used to speaking to myself at all, thus the long awkward pauses during mine... I think you did a great job. And I've never ever heard of a gullyflusher (?) I think that is what you said? So interesting!
